Dream Theater

Dream Theater adalah salah satu grup progressive metal paling terkemuka di dunia saat ini. Didirikan oleh Mike Portnoy, John Petrucci dan John Myung, mereka telah merilis delapan album studio, empat rekaman live dan satu album pendek (EP). Album pertama mereka, When Dream And Day Unite direkam dengan Charlie Dominici sebagai vokalis dan Kevin Moore sebagai pemain keyboards. Dominici berusia jauh lebih tua daripada anggota lainnya dan ingin memainkan musik yang lain, sehingga ia kemudian keluar dari grup. Mereka kemudian mencari pengganti yang ideal selama 2 tahun sampai akhirnya bertemu dengan James LaBrie, vokalis dari Kanada melalui audisi. 

Bersama LaBrie mereka merekam Images And Words yang melambungkan nama mereka ke jajaran internasional dengan hit "Pull Me Under" dan "Another Day". Awake adalah album terakhir mereka dengan Moore yang kemudian digantikan oleh Derek Sherinian untuk album Falling Into Infinity. Pada akhirnya Sherinian juga digantikan oleh Jordan Rudess dan formasi ini masih bertahan sampai hari ini. Mereka telah meluncurkan album konsep Metropolis 2: AScenes From A Memory dan album ganda Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence. Pada tahun 2003 mereka memutuskan untuk merekam album non-konsep Train Of Thought yang sangat dipengaruhi oleh grup thrash metal seperti Metallica. 

Avenged Sevenfold

Avenged Sevenfold adalah band rock Amerika / metal dari Huntington Beach, California, yang dibentuk pada tahun 1999. Band ini terdiri dari vokalis M. Shadows, lead guitar Synyster Gates, Zacky Vengeance rhythm guitar, dan bassist Johnny Christ.

Avenged Sevenfold muncul dengan genre metalcore pada debut mereka Sounding the Seventh Trumpet, yang mengandung banya vokal scream. Band ini mengubah gaya mereka di album ketiga mereka dan rilis major label, City of Evil, yang menampilkan vokal melodis dan power ballad. Band ini terus mengeksplorasi suara baru dengan mengeluarkan yang berjudul Avenged Sevenfold dan menikmati kesuksesan mainstream lanjutan sebelum drummer mereka, James "The Rev" Sullivan, meninggal karena penyakit jantung dan dampak gabungan dari obat dan alkohol di tubuhnya pada tahun 2009. Meskipun kematiannya, band ini melanjutkan dengan bantuan kemudian mantan drummer Dream Theater Mike Portnoy untuk merilis dan melakukan tur dalam mendukung Nightmare, album kelima mereka pada tahun 2010 yang memulai debutnya di tempat atas, Billboard 200 yang berada di tempat pertama.

Sampai saat ini, Avenged Sevenfold telah merilis lima album studio, satu album live / kompilasi / DVD, dan enam belas single . Green Day

kisah bermulai dari seorang anak bernama Billie Joe Armstrong yang memasuki tahun kelimanya di sekolah dengan bertemu dengan Michael Ryan Pritchard (Mike Dirnt) seorang anak yang rusuh berantakan dan yang terbaik, dia adalah seorang Punk. Mike memberi pelajaran apa yang disebut cinta dan punk kepada Billie, dan dengan musik mereka menjadi menyatu dan memutuskan bermain musik bersama. Lalu Billie dan Mike memulai suatu band bernama “Sweet Children”. Mike Memutuskan untuk tinggal bersama billie karena Ibunya memutuskan untuk pindah dari Bay Area karena masalah keuangan, jadilah Mike yang tinggal di garasi milik Bille. Bille dan Mike pun mendengar suatu tempat yang tidak jauh dari tempat tinggalnya, suatu tempat dimana semua Punker berkumpul untuk bersatu dalam musik, suatu tempat dimana dahulunya hanyalah sebuah club kecil, sampai sekarang, tempat itu bernama “Gilman”. Gig Pertama mereka di Gilman tidak terlalu disenangi karena mereka pikir “Sweet Children” terlalu “Pop” untuk didengar para manusia pecinta musik “Hardcore Punk”. dan akhirnya mereka bertemu John Kiffmeyer, (aka Al Sobrante) untuk bergabung bersama “Sweet Children” Sempat tidak disukai dan tidak diingat oleh masyarakat “Gilman” dan hampir frustasi karena mereka sudah mengorbankan semuanya, sampai-sampai Billie Joe dikeluarkan oleh sekolahnya, akhirnya John turun tangan, dia berusaha keras mendapatkan show untuk “Sweet Children” dan mengurus semua uang pengeluaran yang dikeluarkan untuk mendaftar dalam show. Lalu John juga memanggil Lawrence Livermore pemilik Lookout! record untuk meliha “Sweet Children” bermain, dan ternya Lawrence menyukainya dan bertanya kepada billie, apakah mereka ingin membuat suatu album, Billie setuju. Sesaat sebelum mereka merilis single berjudul “1000 Hours”, “Sweet Children” berganti nama menjadi “Green day” yang mereka dapatkan saat mereka hanya bisa duduk seharian dan menghisap ganja. Lawrence sangat marah mendengar hal ini, tapi itu semua mereka kerjakan untuk yang terbaik. Dan setahun setelah muncul Green day, album pertama mereka yang bernama 39/Smooth akhirnya rilis. Green day sangat disukai saat itu, dan setelah Mike lulus dari Pinole Valley High School mereka melakukan tur selama 45 hari. Green day rela tidur di basement orang supaya musiknya didengar, dan menjual kasu dan albumnya untuk bayar makan dan membeli bensin untuk mobil yang mereka pakai untuk tur. Tapi suatu masalah besar datang, John meninggalkan band untuk melanjutkan sekolahnya dan John sama sekali tidak memberi tahu Green day, Billie hanya tahu dari seorang teman, Billie sangat marah dan tidak bilang kepada John bahwa dia sudah digantikan dengan seorang drummer yang diperkenalkan oleh Lawrence yang bernama Frank Edwin Wright the III, yang sekarang lebih dikenal sebagai Tre Cool.

Bullet For My Valentine

Bullet For My Valentine (disingkat jadi BFMV, B4MV, atau Bullet) adalah grup musik heavy metal yang berasal dari Bridgend, Wales. Grup ini dibentuk pada tahun 1998 oleh 5 mahasiswa di sebuah studio musik di kampus mereka, Brigend College. Nama awal band mereka adalah Jeff Killed John. Mereka mengawali karier di dunia musik dengan memainkan musik Nirvana dan Metallica, kemudian pada sekitar tahun 2002 merilis singel You/Play With Me. Mereka mendapat dukungan dari Greg Haver, seorang produser perusahaan rekaman.

DragonForce Adalah sebuah band beraliran Power Metal dari London, yang di bentuk pada tahun 1999. Mereka di kenal dengan solo gitar yang cepat, lirik berdasarkan fantasi, dan suara-suara elektronik untuk menambahkan retro video game mereka sebagai rujukan.

Formasi ( 1999 – 2002 )

DragonForce didirikan olehHerman Li dan Sam Totmandengan nama Dragon Heart.Mereka berdua kemudian menemukan seorang vokalis ZP Theart melalui iklan, segera setelah itu mereka merekrut Matej Setinc sebagai drumer, Steve Scott sebagai bassist dan Steve William pada Keyboard. Totmandan Li memiliki pengalaman bermain bersama di bekas band mereka, Demoniac. DragonHeart kemudian merilis demo, mengikuti tur dengan Halford, Stratovariusdan menunjukkan pertunjukan mereka sendiri dibawah nama-nama itu. Band ini kemudian menemukan bahwa sudah ada band lain dengan nama yang sama, kemudian mereka merubah nama menjadi DragonForce pada tahun 2002.

Linkin Park

Linkin Park adalah grup musik beraliran nu metal dan rock alternatif yang berasal dari Aguora Hills, California, di Amerika Serikat. Mereka sempat beberapa kali berganti nama, antara lain Xero, Hybrid Theory, 0818, hingga nama Linkin Park sampai sekarang. Nama "Linkin Park" sendiri merupakan plesetan dari nama sebuah taman di Los Angeles, Lincoln Park. Sebelum Chester Bennington menjadi vokalis Linkin Park, Mark Wakefield lebih dulu menjadi vokalisnya. Namun, ia keluar dari Linkin Park untuk menjari proyek lain (menjadi manajer grup band Taproot)– saat itu menggunakan nama Hybrid Theory – untuk menjadi manajer grup musik Taproot.

Bassis Dave Farrell alias "Phoenix" juga pernah keluar sebentar dari Linkin Park untuk mengikuti tur bersama band lamanya, Tasty Snax. Sedangkan 4 personil lainnya – Brad Delson, Mike Shinoda, Joe Hahn, dan Rob Bourdon – selalu bertahan di Linkin Park sejak awal pembentukannya.


Linkin Park telah merilis 3 album studio, yaitu Hybrid Theory, Meteora, dan Minutes to Midnight. Linkin Park juga merilis album Live in Texas, Reanimation, dan Collision Course, serta Hybrid Theory EP. Linkin Park sukses dalam mempopulerkan lagu-lagunya seperti Crawling, In the End, Numb, Somewhere I Belong, dan What I've Done. Secara total, album-album Linkin Park telah terjual sebanyak 50 juta keping.
